Get ready for a unique adventure at our Glamping! Discover our tips to make the most of your vacation surrounded by nature.
We are located between 3800 and 4000 meters above sea level, so it's important to follow these tips to avoid altitude sickness, a common response to the lack of oxygen that can cause various discomforts.
1. Stay Hydrated:
Proper hydration is crucial to combat altitude sickness. It's recommended to drink plenty of water, at least 3 or 4 liters daily, even if you're not thirsty. Start increasing your fluid intake two days before your arrival at the Glamping and continue throughout your stay.
2. Energy-Boosting Foods
Consuming chocolates and sweet energy bars can help maintain your energy levels. Incorporate these foods into your diet two days before arriving at the Glamping and during your stay to counteract the effects of altitude sickness.
3. Prepare for Dizziness Symptoms
It's advisable to carry alcohol and cotton in your backpack in case you experience dizziness. These items can be useful for quickly and effectively alleviating symptoms.
4. Gradual Acclimatization
If you're traveling from Manizales or nearby cities, it's important to make a gradual ascent. Come without a jacket and wear comfortable clothes during your journey. Once you reach the sector of 8, roll down the vehicle's windows and spend at least 10 minutes walking to acclimate yourself to the environment. This process will help you better adjust to the altitude. Remember to ascend at your own pace and take frequent breaks to avoid uncomfortable dizziness.
5. Prepare for Cold Weather
Make sure to bring a hat, jacket, and gloves suitable for the mountain's cold weather. These items will keep you warm and comfortable during your stay at Glamping León Dormido.
Follow these tips to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience surrounded by nature. We hope you make the most of your adventure at our Glamping!
